Wendy Kheiry has vast experience working with children of all backgrounds;
combined with a unique spiritual perspective, and no-nonsense approach to
equestrian pursuits; Wendy brings people and horses together for unique,
personal experiences and just plain fun.

Leadership
Wendy served for many years in her church working with children. She
taught Sunday School, served on Youth Council and other committees,
eventually taking a job as Assistant Youth Leader. She served as president
of the American Baptist Youth of Indiana, camp counselor, and even Peer
Leader for the AMBY Summit on the Environment in Estes Park, CO.

Wendy participated in an inner-city street ministry in Camden, NJ with a
non-denominational organization, which focused on giving educational aid to
disadvantaged youth.

Experience with Group Homes
At Anthony Wayne Services, she worked in a group-home setting with
children who have developmental disabilities, as well as with adults in the
work environment.

She worked at Stonebelt group-home in Bloomington, Indiana with
developmentally disabled children.

She worked at Crystal House in Bloomington, with children who had autism.

Energy, Yoga and Meditation
In Kokomo, Indiana she studied different schools of energy healing, and
began experimenting with distance healing and energy work on her skeptical
(but willing) friends and family. She was greatly aided in her journey back to
health and balance by naturopath Dr. Gayle Keppel.  Wendy took up Yoga
during her third pregnancy.

The family briefly moved away from Kokomo, spending a year in the
Caribbean, where Wendy continued her Yoga studies and research. While
there, she found healing and support with naturopath Dr. Charles
McWilliams.

She continued to study Yoga when the family moved to Saudi Arabia, where
she met and began studying with long-time Yoga instructor Effat Mansour.
She practiced Iyengar and Ashtanga Yoga in addition to taking meditation
courses which included healing meditations.

Equestrian
In Saudi Arabia, she had the good fortune to work with riding instructor Ted
Valentiner, who taught her ground work and Western riding, including
barrels, poles and other gymkhana events.  She assisted him in running
gymkhanas for other riders so that they could, "Actually use the skills they
worked so hard to develop in lessons."

After Ted left Arabia, Wendy began lessons with Instructor Michael Vermaas.
She studied schooling, training, English and Classical Dressage and began
jumping lessons with Michael. She studied as many areas of horsemanship
with him as she could until he left Arabia for San Antonio, TX.

She spent 10 days in Thailand taking intensive Classical Riding lessons with
Madam Mitos, who herself studied with Nuno Olivera.  Her other lessons at
Horsehoe Point were with Toto.  While there, she met Masters Chikiri, and
Chinaring, who took time out of their schedules for impromptu lectures and
encouragement.

During her time in Saudi Arabia, Wendy successfully brought two horses
back into work with the much appreciated help and support of instructors, a
barefoot trimmer, an equine masseuse, and friends.  The stories of Kemo
and Pasha can be found in her blog.

While in Vermont, she has been a substitute for the local school, and
volunteered at the local food co-op until it closed
.

For the past two years plus, she has been preparing herself and her farm
for this latest venture.
